Launching Math Daily 3!
Math Daily 3 is a system used to organize math instruction so that teachers are able to work with small groups while the rest of the students work on meaningful, independent math tasks. We are beginning with math writing. In math writing students write and work with numbers through word problems and a number of the day task. Today we reviewed what the student do during math writing. They write about math the whole time, work quietly, start right away, stay in one spot, and build stamina. Building stamina means that students learn to be able to perform the expected behaviors for a longer period of time. We also reviewed what the teacher does during math writing. The teacher works with small groups and individual students to help them improve their math skills.
